Image Iglesias Mendizábal; Alejandro He studied cinematography at the CCC film school in Mexico City. He participated in more than 10 national and international festivals with his short film Abracadabra (2011), which won the Audience Award for Best Short Film of the Festival and Best Ibero-American Short Film Award at the 7th Montevideo Fantastic Film Festival, Uruguay. He participated in the 10th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with his short fiction film Contrafábula de una niña disecada (2012), which was presented at more than 20 film showings and festivals around the world; including the 66th Cannes Film Festival; the 24th São Paulo International Short Film Festival, Brazil; the 32nd Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, England; and the 43rd Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival. For this film, he won the Best Director and Best Picture awards at the 8th Short Shorts Film Festival Mexico (SSFFM); an Honorable Mention at the 20th International Film Festival Etiuda & Anima, Krakow; and the Young Jury Award at the 36th Rencontres Henri Langlois International Film Schools Festival, Poitiers, France. He participated in the 13th edition of FICM with two films: the short fiction film El humo denso que nos oprime el pecho (2015), and the feature fiction film Sopladora de hojas (2015).
