Gironella, Mariana

She studied history and Hispanic language and literature at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a screenwriting course at the CCC film school in Mexico City. Her short fiction film Gajes del oficio (2013) participated in more than 10 festival around the world, including the 11th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM); the 28th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG, in Spanish); the 21st San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF), United States; the Short Film Corner of the 66th Cannes Film Festival; and the 9th Imago Film Festival, Paris, France. It won the Hecho en México award at the 4th Oaxaca Film Fest and won two nominations at the Crystal Screen Festival, Mexico: for Claudia Valdéz for Best Production Value and for Alisarine Ducolomb for Best Art Direction.
