Image Ramírez Suárez, Jorge He studied communication at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and cinematography at the CCC film school in Mexico City. He presented his feature-length fiction film Conejo en la luna (2004) at the 2nd Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). It was shown in more than 30 festivals around the world and won, among other prizes, Best Screenplay at the 31st Iberoamerican Film Festival of Huelva, Spain; the Prix Rail d’Oc at the 17th Toulouse Latin American Film Festival, and an Ariel Award for Male Co-Performance for Carlos Cobos at the 47th Ariel Awards Ceremony. He also won the Third Coral Award at the 20th International Festival of New Latin American Film in Havana for his animated short film Pronto saldremos del problema (1998); and the Audience Award at the 26th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG, in Spanish) for Los inadaptados (2011), among other awards. His feature film Guten Tag, Ramón (2013) premiered at the 11th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). It became a hit in the Mexican box office during 2014, reaching 1.3 million in admissions, and won seven Silver Goddess Awards (Mexican Press Awards) as well as six Mexican Academy Awards (Ariel) nominations. Guten Tag, Ramón was released in more than 20 countries, including Germany and USA, and participated in several festivals in Belgium, France, Germany, USA and Mexico.
