[imagen]El Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia invita al ** SEMINARIO DE FOTOGRAFÍA ** impartido por Janusz Polom en tres días jueves 7 de Agosto por la tarde de 16:00 a 20:00 hrs
viernes 8 todo el día: de 9:00 a 14:00 hrs y de 16:00 a 20:00 hrs. sábado 9 por la mañana de 9:00 a 14:00 hrs.

Dirigido a quienes asisten a cine clubes, alumnos de periodismo,
multimedia y foto fija a nivel universitario y público en general.

Temario General:

Día 1
Objetivos:

a) Usando ejemplos de películas, sensibilizar al público e ilustrarlo sobre la importancia de la imagen en el cine y video, asimismo resaltar el papel que ésta juega en la estructura de la obra cinematográfica.

b) Extender la comprensión del mundo de géneros de cine. Tipos de cine.

-Tarde:
Presentación de películas y Seminario "Cinefotógrafo, ¿artista o artesano?"
1. Película documental "AZUL VIENTO DEL NORTE". Dirigida por Gilda Cruz Revueltas (película biográfica realizada para Canal 22. 50 minutos).

2. Película "SKY BONES". Realizada por M. Nitoslawska (documental sobre el artista mexicano-canadiense Domingo Cisneros. 50 minutos).

3. "SILENT WINESS". Dirigida por Harriet Wichin (documental sobre Campos de Concentración. 70 minutos).

Día 2

-Mañana
Seminario: "Cine de animación y cine experimental en Polonia".
Presentación de antología de cine de animación en Polonia. Duración 4 hrs. aprox.
Presentación del Taller de Forma Cinematográfica (Workshop of Film Form). Una hora.

-Tarde
Presentación de la película de ficción "MALA HIERBA-ZLE ZIOLO". Dirigida por Janusz Polom.

Día 3
Objetivos:
a) Presentar distintos estilos fotográficos con base en la fotografía experimental.

b) Mostrar consecuencia de la imagen digital en investigaciones y experimentos en foto fija.

Presentación de trabajos de fotografía experimental en Polonia.

Janusz Polom (Torun, Pomerania, Polonia, 1950). En 1971 ingreso a la Escuela Nacional de Cine en Lodz, Polonia. Obtiene su grado de Maestría en la misma escuela, en la especialidad de Dirección, y Dirección Fotográfica para cine y televisión.

Durante el periodo 1971-76 es miembro del grupo de cineastas vanguardistas polacos: Workshop of Film Forms. Janusz Polom, realiza su trabajo tanto en el género experimental como en el artístico y en el área de investigación sobre la luz y la representación visual. Su trabajo profesional y artístico en fotografía ha sido expuesto en ciudades como Varsovia, Lodz, Olsztyn, París, Montreal, Sao Paulo, la Ciudad de México, Morelia, Cuernavaca y Aguascalientes, entre otras. Su interés por este género de expresión le ha permitido desarrollar también un trabajo permanente en la docencia como Decano del Departamento de Cine Fotografía en la Escuela Nacional de Cine en Lodz, Polonia (1981-86), y como profesor en la Université du Québec en Montreal. Ha sido profesor invitado de la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, campus Azcapotzalco, en México; e impartió un Taller de fotografía para cine en Montevideo, Uruguay. Desde 1984 ha colaborado estrechamente en el Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC). En 1989 empieza su trabajo como Coordinador del área de Fotografía y Cine Fotografía del CCC y participa en el programa de especialización en esta materia.

Después de 18 años, en 2001 regresa a Polonia, donde realiza el doctorado en la Escuela Nacional de Cine en Lodz y obtiene el titulo de Doctor en Artes Cinematográficas. Actualmente se desempeña en el campo de la foto fija y multimedia en la Cátedra de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Warmia Mazury en Olsztyn, al Norte de Polonia.

Es director y cine fotógrafo de numerosos cortos, medios y largometrajes en cine y video, que lo han hecho merecer prestigiosos premios nacionales e internacionales. Fue cine fotógrafo del largometraje Por si no te vuelvo a ver de Juan Pablo Villaseñor, ganador de nueve Arieles y varios premios internacionales; del documental Silent Witness, de Harriet Wichin, nominado al premio Genie-Oscar en Canadá; de Mon coeur est temoin de Louise Carre, premiada como Mejor Película sobre África, en el Festival Vues de la Afrique, en Montreal. En el 2000 participa de forma compartida con la pintora mexicana Gilda Cruz Revueltas en la exposición Mitos Mexicanos, presentada en el Museo de Historia en Lodz, Polonia.

Como consecuencia de su larga estancia en México, realiza el libro poético: El tiempo en Tepoztlán ilustrado por sus fotopoesías (como él mismo las nombra). Asimismo realizó Paisaje nevado, un proyecto elaborado a partir de imágenes que él observa a través de la ventana de su casa.

[imagen]The Morelia International Film Festival invites you to attend a Cinematography Seminar led by Janusz Polom. The seminar will take place on three days: Thursday, August 7 afternoon, from 16:00 to 20:00; Friday, all day, from 9:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00; Saturday, August 8, morning from 9:00 to 14:00.

The seminar is directed at cinema fans; journalism, multimedia and photography students at the university level as well as the general public.

Janusz Polom (Torun, Pomerania, Poland, 1950). In 1971, Polom entered the National Film School in Lodz, Poland. He received a master’s degree at the same school, concentrating on Direction and Cinematographic Direction for film and television.

From 1971-76, he was a member of a group of avant-garde Polish filmmakers called the Workshop of Film Form. Janusz Polom has worked a lot within the experimental genre in artistic areas as well as researching light and visual representation. As a professional artistic photographer, he has shown work in cities such as Warsaw, Lodz, Olsztyn, Paris, Montreal, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Morelia, Cuernavaca and Aguascalientes, among others. His interest in this art has also allowed him to take on the responsibilities of an educator. He served as Dean of the Department of Cinematography at the National Film School in Lodz, Poland (1981-86), and as a professor at the Université du Québec in Montreal. He has been a guest professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, at the Azcapotzalco campus in Mexico City; and has given cinematography workshops in Montevideo, Uruguay. In 1984 he began working closely with the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City. In 1989 he served as the Photography and Cinematography Coordinator at the CCC and participated in the specialized program at the school that dealt with this particular subject.

In 2001, after being away for 18 years, he returned to Poland to do his doctorate at the National Film School in Lodz, becoming a Doctor in Cinematographic Arts. Currently he works in the field of still photography and multimedia as the Chair of Fine Arts at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, in northern Poland.

He has directed and done cinematography for many short, medium- and feature-length films and videos, which have won well-deserved national and international awards.
He worked as cinematographer on Juan Pablo Villaseñor’s feature-length film Por si no te vuelvo a ver (If I Never See You Again), which won nine Arieles and various international prizes; Harriet Wichin’s documentary Silent Witness, which garnered a nomination for a Genie award in Canada; Louise Carre’s film Mon coeur est temoin, which won Best Picture about Africa at the Festival Vues de la Afrique, in Montreal. In 2000, he and the Mexican painter Gilda Cruz Revueltas participated in the exhibition Mexican Myths at the Museum of History in Lodz, Poland.

The poetic book: El tiempo en Tepoztlán (Time in Tepoztlán) illustrated with his photo-poems came out of his long stay in Mexico. At the same time, he created Paisaje nevado (Snowy Landscape), a project made up of images seen from the window of his home.
