CPKC Mexico Presents the Documentary PULSO DEL CONTINENTE During the 23rd FICM

Pulso del continente (2025, dir. Eric González), a documentary that follows the 76-day journey from Calgary to Mexico City of the Empress 2816, a steam locomotive restored for one last trip, was presented at the 23rd Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).

The documentary was presented by Daniela Michel, Founder and Director of the festival, and Oscar del Cueto, President of CPKC Mexico, who shared with the audience his enthusiasm for being back in Morelia. CPKC is celebrating its first anniversary, and this documentary highlights its legacy and the future of the North American railroad.

“We have been proud sponsors of the Morelia International Film Festival for 15 years and we thank Daniela, Cuauhtémoc, and Alejandro for the opportunity to always be present,” he said.

“We are very grateful to the company that has always supported us consistently and generously. It is a pleasure to present this documentary about everything that happens with trains. It is fascinating,” replied Daniela Michel as she kicked off the screening.
