Adam, a former swimming champion who is now in his sixties, works as a swimming instructor at the pool in a luxury hotel in Yamena, the capital of Chad. When the hotel is bought by Chinese businessmen, Adam must give up his job. The film reflects the situation in present-day Chad, a country in the throes of a civil war that has plunged the economy into a deep depression. It should also be viewed as a metaphor of  Africa today.
