05 · 23 · 19 Open call for the Morelia / IMCINE - Locarno Industry Academy International 2019 Share with twitter Share with facebook Share with mail Copy to clipboard The Morelia / IMCINE - Locarno Industry Academy International workshop, an initiative that the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) organizes since 2015 in collaboration with the Locarno Film Festival and the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE), invites young professionals of the film industry to participate in its fifth edition. The call will be open from May 23 to June 23, 2019, for young people interested in developing professionally in areas of sales, marketing, distribution, exhibition and film programming who are preferably already working in established companies. The workshop, designed for eight participants from Mexico and the rest of Latin America, will take place from October 20 to 23, 2019, during the 17th edition of the FICM. The Morelia / IMCINE - Locarno Industry Academy International workshop is part of the Industry Academy Latin America project, which aims to professionalize the Ibero-American film industry. Carried out with the support of the Ibermedia program, the Industry Academy Latin America consists of three specialization workshops during 2019. In October, the Morelia / IMCINE - Locarno Industry Academy International will be held in Mexico and the Sao Paulo Locarno Industry Academy International in Brazil. In December, the Chile Locarno Industry Academy International will take place. All young professionals from Ibero-American countries who meet the participation requirements are invited to send their application. The calls for the Industry Academy of Chile and Brazil will open soon. The Morelia / IMCINE - Locarno Industry Academy International is the result of the long-standing relationship between the Locarno Film Festival and its international partners. The project demonstrates the permanent dedication to involve a new generation of key professionals in the independent film industry, help them gain a greater understanding of the industry's challenges and provide them with the opportunity to expand their network of contacts, as well as build bridges through different markets. Participation requirements: Passion about cinema and a strong film culture background are required. A previous experience in the aforementioned professional areas is needed. Applicants being in position in a company will be favored. A good level of English (written and spoken) is required. The online form must be duly filled, and sent along with a cover letter and CV. The FICM will provide all the selected participants a festival accreditation, 4 nights of accommodation (October 20 to 23) with breakfast in shared room, and lunches on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of October.
