American actor Casey Affleck will be a special guest at 14th FICM

The Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), which will be celebrating its fourteenth edition from October 21st to 30th, is pleased to announce that the outstanding actor, Casey Affleck, will visit Morelia to present Manchester by the Sea (2016), directed by Kenneth Lonergan and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2016.

A Columbia University graduate in New York, Casey Affleck debuted with To Die For (1995), by Gus Van Sant, a film in which he shared credits with Nicole Kidman and Joaquin Phoenix.

Casey Affleck was nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007), by Andrew Dominik. He has worked on tens of productions as an actor, director, and screenwriter, among which I'm Still Here (2010), starring Joaquin Phoenix; Christopher Nolan's Interstellar (2014); Scott Cooper's Out of the Furnace (2013); David Lowery's Ain't Them Bodies Saints (2013); and the Oceans trilogy by Steven Soderbergh.

Casey Affleck stars in Manchester by the Sea, a film that tells the story of a young man (Affleck) who is forced to return to his small hometown after learning that his brother has died and becomes the legal guardian of his nephew. The film will be presented by the actor in a special feature on Saturday, October 22, in Morelia's 14th FICM.
