Daniela Michel among Forbes’ 50 most creative Mexicans

Forbes magazine has published its third list of 50 Mexicans who have excelled in their fields, which include art, sport, literature, cuisine and cinema. For FICM it is a great honor to announce that Daniela Michel, founder and CEO of our festival, has been included in that list.

In the article, Forbes’ Naomi Palovits writes: “Daniela planted the seed that led to the creation of the first international platform for Mexican cinema, one that today is celebrated at some of the most important festivals in the world, including Cannes, Berlin, Venice and San Sebastián.” Daniela, she goes on, “knew what she had to do to put Mexican cinema on the map.”

Other figures from the Mexican film industry who share a place on the Forbes list are: Alejandro González Iñárritu; Guillermo del Toro; Emmanuel Lubezki, Alfonso Cuarón; Salma Hayek; Jonás Cuarón; Amat Escalante; Alexis Zabé; Gabriel Ripstein; Carlos Reygadas; Eva Aridjis; Ana de la Reguera and Demián Bichir.
