Eight youngsters open the Locarno Industry Academy International workshop

As part of the training activities of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), the Locarno Industry Academy workshop began in the Alfredo Zalce tribute room of the University Cultural Center of Morelia.

For four days, eight young professionals of the film industry in Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil will be able to learn about processes to give life to films beyond the screen.

Andrea Stavenhagen, responsible for Impulso Morelia, welcomed the participants, while José Miguel Álvarez, representing Imcine, said: “We care about a dialogue between cinema and its audiences and this workshop is ideal for training with experts in the field —both national and international—who can exchange ideas, propose solutions, study cases, stay updated on new ways of approaching audiences.”

“Let us find ways and means for cinema to dialogue with its audiences. Let us make diverse cinema,” added Álvarez.
