Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters Presented by Tom Luddy One of the most stunning, extravagant cinematic tributes to an artist ever filmed, and never yet distributed in Mexico, Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters chronicles the life and career of Yukio Mishima, one Japan?s most famous and iconic postwar writers, whose remarkable career and shocking death fired the modern Japanese imagination. The film?s copious riches range from outstanding performances (particularly by Ken Ogata in the title role), a mesmerizing score by Philip Glass, to the visual fierceness and storytelling flourishes by Paul Schrader, famous as the writer of Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, as well as for writing and directing such idiosyncratic classics as Cat People and American Gigolo. For this unique project, Schrader teamed with Tom Luddy, producer of Barfly, Powaqqatsi, The Secret Garden, and Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe, among others, and venerated co-founder of the Telluride Film Festival. An honored guest of this year?s Morelia International Film Festival, Tom Luddy will present this rare screening of Mishima with a special commentary.
