Returning from Paris, where he studied music for nine years, the young David finds his native Chihuahua, in Mexico, immersed in the hectic prelude to revolutionary eruption. He recalls episodes of the violent reality that sparked tragedy in his family at the turn of the century. As he re-enters the present, he decides to join the Revolution alongside his butler, whose son has been murdered.
