The Festival del film Locarno has joined forces with the Film Society of the Lincoln Center, to offer an industry training program in New York. The Locarno Industry Academy offers training to young people working within the cinema industry, in the fields of international sales, marketing, distribution, exhibition, curation and programming. In New York, the workshops, presentations and round-table discussions will be focused on increasing diversity in the industry, an issue that is currently of great concern to Hollywood.

From March 20 – 23, 2016, six young employees of distribution companies will meet to augment their professional training at the Locarno Industry Academy in New York. The program will take place under the banner of the New Directors/New Films festival, which was founded jointly by the Film Society of the Lincoln Center and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and which shows only first or second works by emerging talents.
