FICM presents a special function at the 57th Cannes Critics' Week

As every year, since 2005, the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) will have a special role out of competition in the Critics' Week, a parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival. In this function, four short films that were part of the Official Selection of the 15th edition of the FICM will be presented.

The solid partnership that the Critics 'Week and the FICM hold has provided the opportunity for nearly 40 Mexican filmmakers to showcase their work at Cannes, as well as to present, year after year, a selection of Critics' Week films in the FICM, with the presence of some of its directors or protagonists.

This year, the works of the Official Selection of the 15th FICM that will be screened at the 57th Critics' Week are:

FICM en la Semana de la Crítica

During the festival, the Artistic Delegate of the Critics 'Week, Charles Tesson, who was a jury member in the 8th and 15th editions of the FICM, presented the films of the Critics' Week that were screened in Morelia.

The mission of the Critics' Week is to discover and support emerging talents, programming only first and second works at the Cannes Festival. In this way, it has opened the doors to directors of the stature of Bernardo Bertolucci, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Wong Kar Wai, Ken Loach, Barbet Schroeder and Guillermo del Toro, among many others. At FICM we are honored to present the work of new talents of Mexican cinema in a forum of the importance and prestige of Critics' Week.

The special function of the FICM in Critics' Week will be presented on May 16.

The 57th Critics' Week will take place from 9 to 17 May 2018, as part of the 71st edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
