Director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon presented his film to a packed theater at Cinépolis Centro in Morelia, where he commented:

On nods to his favorite directors:
“I put all the directors that I like, such as Scorsese. I had a list of all the parodies that children would do: posters, books, music … they are everywhere.”

On his relationship with Greg (the main character):
“When you’re an artist or director, in junior high school you’re embarrassed to show that side of you. When faced with something as abstract as death, it makes you angry. But to film something abstract, after a while, you begin to give it meaning.”

On the future of the film:
“Today is its premiere in Mexico and when the tour ends, when the film’s journey ends, the life of the film ends. And afterwards, whoever sees it, whoever continues talking about it, will keep the film alive.”
