Cine político en México (1968-2017), a book to understand the filmic movement

Cinema is not just art; the very meaning of its name implies movement, same as politics, which refers to the organization of human societies; from this idea emerged the axis of the book Cine político en México (1968-2017), consisting of essays and research by different authors, edited by Adriana Estrada Álvarez, Nicolas Défossé and Diego Zavala Scherer.

In the context of the 17th Morelia International Film Festival, this book was presented, because in addition to the screening of films, the FICM is committed to doing research on cinema in Mexico.

Cine político en México (1968-2017) seeks to draw paths that help to visualize certain historical, political and social dimensions of cinema and video in Mexico; it appeals to value the cinematographic and audiovisual work in its relationship with social and cultural movements. It wonders about the manifesting horizons, and the effects that occur in that connection that it establishes with reality.
