Leona, by Isaac Cherem, was Presented at the 16th FICM
On Monday morning the press screening for the film Leona, which is part of the Mexican Feature Film Selection in competition, took place within the the sixteenth edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), and featured the presence of its director Isaac Cherem, the producer Salomón Askenazi and actors Naian González Norvind and Christian Vázquez.
Alejandra Márquez Abella Presented Las Niñas Bien at the 16th FICM
Mexican filmmaker Alejandra Márquez Abella presented her feature film Las Niñas Bien in the company of producers Rodrigo González and Gabriela Maire, costume designer Annai Ramos and actresses Ilse Salas and Johanna Murillo. The film is part of the Mexican Feature Film Section, within the 16th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).
Iván Giroud Presented Memorias del Subdesarrollo, by Tomás Gutiérrez Alea
With the presence of Iván Giroud, director of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, the film Memorias del Subdesarrollo (1968, dir. Tomás Gutiérrez Alea), which is part of The Criterion Collection program was presented.
Julio Chavezmontes and Rogelio Sosa Presented Acusada at the 16° FICM
The Latin American premiere of Acusada (2018), a Mexican-Argentinean co-production by director Gonzalo Tobal, took place at the 16th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). The screening was attended by Julio Chavezmontes, producer of the film, and Rogelio Sosa, composer of the film’s score.
Olivier Assayas Unveiled an Armchair in His Honor at the 16th FICM
Prior to the presentation of his film, Irma Vep (1996), French director and screenwriter Olivier Assayas unveiled a armchair in his honor in the company of Alejandro Ramírez, president of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) and Daniela Michel, founder and director of FICM.
The Programming of the Best of the 16th FICM in Mexico City is Revealed
The Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) is pleased to announce once again that, upon completion of the activities in Morelia, the capital’s audiences will be able to enjoy the Best of the 16th FICM in Mexico City from November 2 to 11. The Best of FICM in Mexico City reinforces and gives continuity to the festival’s mission to promote the talents of national cinema since the basis of its programming is made up of the Mexican titles awarded at the 16th FICM.
