Lila Avilés presented La Camarista in the 16th FICM
The Mexican director and actress Lila Avilés, presented her debut feature La camarista, a film that is part of the Mexican Feature Film Section of the 16th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). She was accompanied by producer Tatiana Graullera and actresses Gabriela Cartol, Teresa Sánchez and Agustina Quinci.
The 16th FICM at Festival Scope
Festival Scope, the online platform that offers virtual screenings of the best film festivals in the world, has some of the competing films available from the 16th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) until November 11. Festival Scope‘s objective is to not only give moviegoers a glimpse of upcoming releases but also to promote and support these productions so that they reach more audiences.
Alfonso Cuarón Gave a Master Class at the 16th FICM
The filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón offered a master class moderated by the Polish director Pawel Pawlikowski at the Ocampo Theater. Both were presented by Alejandro Ramírez, president of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM); Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Batel, vice-president, and Daniela Michel, founder and general director of the festival.

Roma Press Conference with Alfonso Cuarón
At a press conference Daniela Michel, founder and general director of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), welcomed the cast of Roma, consisting of Yalitza Aparicio, Marina de Tavira, Nancy García and Fernando Grediaga, and the director of the movie, Alfonso Cuarón.
Khalik Allah presented Black Mother at the 16th FICM
As part of the program of the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam (CIFFR), the documentary Black Mother was screened with the presence of the director Khalik Allah at the 16th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). The film received the Yellow Robin Award 2018 during the 7th edition of the CIFFR.
Un couteau dans le coeuR, dby Yann González was presented at the 16th FICM
The French filmmaker Yann Gonzalez presented his most recent film, Un Couteau dans le Coeur, with Jacques Kermabon, editor-in-chief of Brief and current member of the jury of the Mexican Short Film Festival of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), and Julio Chavezmontes, Mexican producer of the film.
Gala for Roma at the 16th FICM
The audience was waiting for Alfonso Cuarón on the red carpet from six in the afternoon, but they had been waiting for Roma since August. Rumor on the street says it “will win an Oscar”. The founder and director of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), Daniela Michel, said it in other words: “This film will go into the history of cinema. It’s a historic moment for FICM to present a masterpiece like Roma“.

Paulina Suárez, director of Ambulante: Documentary Tour, and Roxana Alejo, operational director, presented the documentary Hasta los Dientes (2018, dir. Alberto Arnaut) eat Plaza Benito Juárez at the 16th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).
Special Screening of Mexican Spitfire at the 16th FICM
With the presence Daniela Michel, founder and director of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), in the company of John Bailey, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of the United States; Gregory Nava, filmmaker, and Carol Littleton, film editor, presented the special screening of the film starring Lupe Vélez, Mexican Spitfire (1940, dir. Leslie Goodwins), at the 16th edition of FICM.
