Venice Film Festival Kicks Off With Strong Mexican Presence

Mexican cinema is enjoying an exceptional presence at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival, which began yesterday with the screening of Everest by Baltasar Kormákur at a gala event. Taking part in the festival’s 2015 edition are the extraordinary Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón, president of the jury for the international competition, and Daniela Michel, general director of FICM, a member of the jury that will present the “Luigi De Laurentiis” award for Best First Film. Both paraded down the red carpet together with key personalities of the international film industry.
