Prix Lumière 2016: The Press Pay Tribute to French Cinema

On the 8th of February, 2016, in the Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris, the Académie des Lumières presented an awards ceremony honoring the best French films of the year. The Académie Lumières is made up of more than 200 members of the international press, all of whom are based in Paris. Their General Delegate is José Maria Riba, who has collaborated with both the Cannes Film Festival and FICM. The Lumières awards are the French equivalent of the Golden Globes, which are awarded annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

This year, at the 21st edition of the award ceremony, the Académie des Lumières paid tribute to the extraordinary French actress Isabelle Huppert, Guest of Honor at the 13th FICM. Daniela Michel, Director of FICM, was also present at the ceremony to celebrate the career of this icon of international cinema.
