Every year in the Purépecha village of Ahuiran, Michoacán, the day of Tsukuri Jukakua is celebrated, in which the ceremonial title of "cargueros" or carriers of the village is transfered to a new generation. This event serves as an occasion to meditate on the loss of traditional values.
