  • Nine Mexican films that have received awards at FICM will be shown in Hong Kong.
  • The films will be presented at CineClub México, of the Consulate General of Mexico in Hong Kong.
  • From April to December 2017, one FICM winning film will be shown the last Thursday of every month.

The Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) is pleased to announce that nine Mexican films will be shown at CineClub México in Hong Kong. This is possible thanks to the Consulate General of Mexico in Hong Kong, and the support of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) and the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE). The Cantonese media company HK01 will be the local partner, providing the venue for the screenings.

CineClub México was founded more than two years ago by the Consulate General of Mexico in Hong Kong. Since its origin, it screens a Mexican film the last Thursday of every month. The number of assistants to CineClub México has increased and diversified, attracting more local people from Hong Kong who are interested in Mexico’s cinema.

From April to December 2017, the Hong Kong audience will be able to enjoy a FICM winning film every month. In this way, on the eve of the festival’s 15th anniversary, FICM continues its mission of promoting quality Mexican cinema around the world.
